Hayden Keam
Director
Dip Public Safety, NZ Cert Carpentry Level 4
After working as a geotech technician for 2 years, Hayden spent the next 10 years of his working career as a Police Officer in both NZ and South Australia, working in roles from General Duties through to Prosecutions. However, he decided on a career change and then found his real passion, carpentry. After completing his qualification he promptly set about establishing Keam Construction and growing his passion for the industry. With his family being long established in Tauranga with a reputation for integrity, the clients soon came along. The company has now been building beautiful houses across the Bay of Plenty for almost 15 years. In that time all their work has solely come from word of mouth and reputation alone.
As Hayden’s vision has always been to provide the best service to his clients, he has chosen to only run one main project at a time, so he is always present on site. His senior staff have stayed with the company from the beginning so they have a great understanding of the vision of the company. The team has a calm nature throughout. From engineers to architects, Hayden is renowned for his ability to problem solve and come up with economical and practical solutions on site. He is highly experienced at working on sloping, challenging sites.
When not on the tools or spending time with his family Hayden enjoys music, hiking and fishing. Hayden also serves as a builder representative on the Christian Education Trust, inputing into the development of future Schools across the Bay of Plenty and also the ongoing ever extending development of the stunning Bethlehem College Campus.
Matthew Keam
BSc, PGDipSci, MSc (Hons) Geology, NZ Cert Carpentry Level 4
Having worked as an Engineering Geologist for the likes of Aurecon and Tonkin & Taylor, Matt contributes invaluable expertise for all things geotech to the team. Now with over 13 years of building experience, Matt brings his pleasant nature, broad skillset, life skills and an eye for detail to the team. He is a family man and outside of work enjoys getting away in his caravan and being involved in his kids activities.
David Navidinejad
NZ Cert Carpentry Level 4
As Hayden’s first apprentice David has been foundational member of the team. Quiet by nature but a perfectionist on the tools he loves to execute on the finishing details. When not at work David is enjoying family life and creating all kinds of gadgets. An expert in 3D printing and modelling he is always coming up with something new. Broken powertools? No worries Dave will fix it.
Cruise Wadsworth
NZ Cert Carpentry Level 4
Cruise is Keam Constructions most recently graduated carpenter. Coming from a family of carpenter’s Cruise was quick to pick up on the skills needed for the job. He has quickly established himself in the team with an understanding of the high level of workmanship required. When not at work you will find Cruise in the outdoors. He has a love for Kite surfing, cycling and being involved as a youth leader at his local church.
